Campaign Significance
THE BANE RELEASER: Ser Pas Rata's decision to blow the horn (Session 1) is THE defining moment that created the entire campaign crisis. After Joneyentee the Unknown's failed climb attempt, Pas Rata successfully retrieved the horn from the statue and blew it, causing:
- Entire mountain/island to shake violently and erupt as volcano
- Massive dragon (The Bane) to emerge and fly away
- Ancient evil released into the world
- All subsequent corruption, civil war, and suffering stems from this moment
The Irony: Joneyentee's overthinking (climbing instead of using Mage Hand) led to Pas Rata's impulsive action (blowing mysterious horn without investigation), combining to create world-ending consequences. The campaign's central crisis began with party's Session 1 choices.
Legacy: Though Pas Rata died roughly one month after leaving the party, his action in Session 1 continues to drive every major plot point. The Bane he released corrupts people, fuels civil war, threatens the kingdom, and haunts party members with visions and commands.
